Appleby School Of Motoring is operated by Stuart Appleby, a DVSA qualified, Grade A, independent Driving Instructor with an excellent pass rate. Stuart is also a member of the Institute of Advanced Motorists, ensuring that you receive the highest standard of driving instruction. Learning to Drive

Learning to drive can be a daunting experience, which is why we strive to make lessons as relaxed and enjoyable as possible. Our lessons are structured to ensure that even the most nervous of learners is quickly put at ease and can get on with learning to drive. We offer a starter pack to those who purchase a block of lessons, which includes a Theory Test DVD, as well as a discount on the pay as you go price for lessons.

Block Bookings and Intensive Courses

If you're looking to learn to drive quickly, we offer block bookings and intensive courses to help you achieve your goal. Our intensive courses are available in various options, allowing you to learn in as little as 1 week! Our block bookings offer excellent value for money, with various options available to suit your needs.

Post Test Tuition

Once you've passed your test, we offer further instruction post-test tuition to help you become a confident and safe driver. Our 6 module course covers town driving, night driving, all weather driving, driving on rural roads, driving on dual carriageways and motorways. There is no test at the end, and an assessment is made at the end of each module.

Prices

We offer competitive prices for all of our services. Our standard rates are as follows:

• Pay as you go 1, 1.5 or 2 Hour Lessons - 35
• Block Bookings - 330 (10 hours paid in advance)
• Intensive Courses - Various courses available
• Further Instruction Post test tuition - 230 (6 module course)

Licence Requirements

Before you can drive on a public road or take your theory test, you will need a valid Provisional Driving Licence. You can apply for your provisional licence up to 3 months before your 16th Birthday, but it will not be valid until you actually turn 17. You can apply for your first British provisional driving licence online if you meet the minimum age requirement, can meet the minimum eyesight requirement, are currently not prevented from driving for any reason, can pay by Mastercard, Visa, Maestro, Electron, Delta or Solo debit or credit card, have a valid UK passport or another form of identity, and can provide addresses of where you have lived over the last three years.

The Theory Test

The theory test is made up of two parts; a multiple choice questionnaire and a hazard perception video test. You will need to pass both parts to get your certificate. The multiple choice questions are no longer published, which means that those found in revision materials of any kind will give you an idea of the questions and answers to expect but will NOT be exactly the same as those you will face during the test itself.
