Our founder, Barry Thomas, has over 30 years of experience in the driving instruction industry and has been running Elmbridge Automatic since 1998. Our History

Elmbridge Automatic was established in 1998 by Barry Thomas, who had previously owned and managed Hampton Court School of Motoring from 1992 to 2015. With more than six years of experience in running a driving school that offered only manual lessons, Barry identified a growing demand for automatic tuition in the Surrey area. Despite initial skepticism from his peers, Barry took the plunge and set up Elmbridge Automatic, which has since become a trusted and respected driving school in the region.

Our Services

At Elmbridge Automatic, we offer a range of services to cater to the needs of our students. Our automatic driving courses are designed to be flexible and tailored to our students' individual needs. For novice learner drivers, we offer structured tuition that follows the recommended DSA syllabus and prepares students for the practical driving test. For experienced drivers who need to obtain a UK licence, we provide specialist tuition that is specifically designed for overseas drivers living in the UK. Our aim is to make the process as painless and straightforward as possible.

Our Prices

At Elmbridge Automatic, we believe in offering competitive pricing without compromising on the quality of our services. Our driving lesson prices for automatic tuition are as follows:

• Novice learner drivers: 42 per hour in our usual teaching area, with an advance payment of 400 for ten hours.
• Specialist tuition: individual lessons from 44 per hour, with prices varying depending on the area you live in.
